        Psychology was coined from the Greek word PSYCHE which means "soul" and LOGOS which means "discourse". It is the study of the mind, along with such aspects of mind as perception, cognition, emotion, and behavior, dates back to the Ancient Greek. It is a branch of Philosophy until the 1870's. It borders on various other fields including Physiology, Neuroscience, Artificial Intelligence, sociology, anthropology, as well as Philosophy and other components of humanities.
       The study of human behavior must go beyond what happens to an individual and must consider the institutional arrangements in which individual live. Psychology touches all aspect of our lives; a society has become more complex. Psychology has assume an increasingly important role in solving human problems. Knowing it's basic facts and its research methods as it affects many aspects of our lives is important for all of us.
       The first formal laboratory of Psychology was founded by Wilhelm Wundt in Leipzig, Germany.
